| Matthew Etherington has lived and worked in the United
States since moving from England in 2002. He holds a Bachelor's
Degree with Honors in Jazz Studies from the University of Leeds,
a Masters degree in Composition for Film and Television, and a Post-Graduate
Certificate in Education from the University of Bristol. Over the
past eight years, Matthew has held the posts of Lower School Director
of Music at Milton Academy (Milton, MA), Performing Arts Department
Head and Technology Coordinator at Camelot Academy (Durham, NC),
and he is currently the Middle School Director and Performing Arts
Director at The Woods Charter School (Chapel Hill, NC). In the last
ten years, Matthew has performed on piano, keyboards, saxophone,
and percussion in Europe, South Africa, and the United States. In
2004 he co-directed a school performance at an award ceremony for
Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Danny Glover. His school experience
includes choral direction, musical theater, jazz groups, and music
technology programs. In 2005 Matthew achieved Level 3 Orff certification
from the University of Memphis where he studied under Prof. Jos
Wuytack. Matthew has contributed educational materials to the British
Educational Communications and Technology Agency (BECTA) and to
the TI:ME (Technology Institute for Music Educators) database. In
2008, Matthew's work was published in the book Technology Integration
in the Elementary Music Classroom (Hal Leonard). He is a certified TI:ME instructor and clinician, and the creator of the music education resource
